What It Really Took to Get This Home Sold
People see the “For Sale” sign go up and assume we just list the house and wait. But that’s rarely how it works.
Last month, we listed a cozy mid-century ranch in the Montavilla neighborhood (97213). The seller was a young couple relocating for work, juggling two kids, a dog, and a looming move-out deadline. From the outside, the house was charming—but behind the scenes, there was work to do.
We coordinated painters, landscapers, and a deep-cleaning crew in a 48-hour window just to get the place photo-ready. The front porch needed repairs, the backyard was overgrown, and staging the home meant rearranging nearly every room while the family lived there. One night, I was there until 10:30 p.m. making sure the lighting looked just right for the photographer the next morning.
Then came pricing strategy. We ran comps, analyzed trends in the Portland real estate market, and had honest conversations with the sellers about expectations. We listed on a Thursday, held a packed open house on Saturday, and by Tuesday we were sorting through seven offers. But even that part wasn’t simple—one of the top offers had odd contingencies we had to navigate carefully.
The house sold in under a week, over asking price, to a buyer we knew would close. But that smooth outcome only happened because of everything we did in the messy middle.
What we learned (again) is that getting a home sold isn’t about luck—it’s about showing up, every single day, and sweating the details most people never see.
When you choose a Portland real estate agent, you’re not just hiring someone to post a listing. You’re hiring someone to care—about the timing, the prep, the people, and the end result.
Every home has a story. We’re here to help you write the next chapter.
