This Was More Than a Home—It Was a Fresh Start

Some sales mean more than square footage or price per foot. This one meant freedom.

Not long ago, we worked with a client named Carla who was starting over. Recently divorced, she was navigating the Portland real estate market for the first time on her own. She wasn’t just looking for a house—she was looking for stability, identity, and a place to breathe again.

We looked at nearly a dozen homes in SE Portland, but nothing quite fit. Some were too big, some too cold, and some just didn’t feel right. Then we found a small craftsman near Mt. Tabor (97215). It wasn’t flashy. It needed a little love. But something about it made Carla pause. “I could see my dog sunbathing right there,” she said, pointing at a patch of afternoon light in the living room.

The offer process wasn’t easy. There were multiple bidders, and the home needed negotiation around inspection items. But we stuck with it, made the calls, wrote the letters, and helped her win the home—at a fair price, with repairs included.

At the final walkthrough, she cried. Not because of the keys or the paperwork, but because this house meant she wasn’t stuck anymore. She was moving forward.

That moment reminded us why we do what we do. This job isn’t about transactions—it’s about transitions. Every client comes with a story, and when we help them step into a new chapter, it’s an honor.

There are plenty of agents who can open doors. But we walk through them with our clients, every step of the way.

If you’re thinking about buying or selling in the Portland area, we’d love to be part of your story.
