The Extra Mile Before the For Sale Sign
Most people only see a home once the “For Sale” sign goes up, but so much happens before that moment.
Earlier this month, we were preparing a home in SE Portland to hit the market. From the outside, it looked like a quick job—just snap some photos and go live. But the truth? It took two weeks of careful preparation. We coordinated contractors for touch-up paint, scheduled landscapers to refresh the yard, and even rolled up our sleeves to help the sellers declutter and stage.
One afternoon, I found myself hauling boxes alongside the homeowners, laughing as we discovered items they hadn’t seen in years. They told me stories about raising their kids in that house, and suddenly, the work didn’t feel like “prep.” It felt like honoring the life lived within those walls. By the time the photographer arrived, the house wasn’t just ready—it was glowing.
That experience reminded me that selling a home isn’t just about numbers or square footage. It’s about respect—for the memories that came before and for the new chapter ahead. Portland real estate is competitive, but the little details we sweat before the sign goes up often make the biggest difference in how quickly and how well a home sells.
The extra mile matters. And it’s why we don’t just list homes—we help them shine.
Every home has a story. We’re here to help you write the next chapter.
