The Call We Almost Missed
It was late on a Friday afternoon when my phone rang. I almost let it go to voicemail—it had been a long week of showings, paperwork, and late-night negotiations. But something told me to pick up.
On the other end was someone I had met nearly two years ago at an open house in SE Portland. We’d stayed in touch here and there—quick texts to check in, sharing market updates, nothing flashy. They told me, “You probably don’t remember me, but I’m ready to sell my place.” I laughed, because of course I remembered.
What struck me wasn’t that they were finally ready—it was that they trusted me enough to call. Not because I had pressured them, but because I had shown up consistently, even when there was no guarantee it would turn into business.
Within a week, we were walking through their home, making a plan to list. And as we stood in the living room, they said, “I called you because you never disappeared.”
That moment reminded me why consistency matters so much in Portland real estate. It’s not about grand gestures or hard sales—it’s about being there, again and again, until the timing is right for someone else.
Every home has a story. We’re here to help you write the next chapter.
